CONTENT IDEAS FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 6 – 10

Start the year with internal content promoting a culture of caring, connection, and success. Of course, these are general suggestions to be adapted based on your organization's culture, structure, state and — most importantly — goals!

#Monday, January 6: WELCOME BACK – For many folks, today is the first day back in the office since the holiday season began. Imagine being greeted with sincere welcome-back communication from your CEO. It's an incredible opportunity to tie into your company's purpose, mission, values, and theme/rally cry as you set the stage for the new year.

#Tuesday, January 7: ORTHODOX CHRISTMAS – Religion in the workplace is a delicate topic, yet if you have an inclusive approach, this is one to include. According to the BBC, over 2 million people worldwide will be celebrating Christmas on this day.

#Wednesday, January 8: WELLNESS WEDNESDAY – For many of us, January is a time to reset and refocus our physical and mental goals. Show your support for a healthy and happy workforce by promoting your existing benefits and programs, sharing helpful external resources, or launching a new initiative such as a lunchbreak walking group.

#Thursday, January 9: WORD NERD DAY – I'll admit bias on this one (words are fun!), yet this is a great excuse to celebrate your communications team. (Yes, even if it's you!). You could play up the day even more by leveraging AI or other online tools to create a crossword, word scramble, or related game that ties into your company's foundations, theme, or initiatives for the year.

#Friday, January 10: COMMUNITY BUILDING – If building community and connection in the workplace is part of your 2025 initiatives, here's an interactive suggestion. Ask people to post a success story from their first 10 days of 2025! As a reminder, social media is a conversation (even internally), and leadership participation is key, so be sure to respond to comments and encourage executives to be vulnerable and get involved.

How are you communicating this week to reach your goals?
